Apple CEO Tim Cook today sent the following email to all Apple employees:

Team,

I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today.

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing
human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

We are planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email rememberingsteve@apple.com.

No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.

Today Apple announced the all new iPhone 4s.

If you’re an AT&T customer and you are an early adopter that got the iPhone 4 last year at Jun-24-2010 you might be eligible for an early Oct 7 Pre-order.

The only problem is that AT&T rating their good customer differently and does not qualify Oct 14 eligibility for the new iPhone for everyone.

As far as readers informed me, there is 3 different dates for eligibility for customers that got the iPhone 4 at Jun 24 2010.

Rated A customers will be able to get the new iPhone 4s at Oct 14.

Rated B customers will be able to get the new iPhone 4s at Nov 25.

Rated C customers will be able to get the new iPhone 4s at Feb 25 2012.

* I don’t know if AT&T really rates their customers with letters, but they do rate customers in some way. how do you explain the differences in eligibility otherwise.

SendGrid is a cloud-based email infrastructure relieves businesses of the cost and complexity of maintaining custom email systems.

SendGrid provides reliable delivery, scalability and real-time analytics along with flexible API’s that make custom integration a breeze.

The only thing is that SendGrid is a new company and no one yet created a good PHP library for their API.

I love Rackspace cloud, I use them for all of my projects.
The only thing that lack with Rackspace Cloud is a good DNS control panel.

Recently Rackspace announced the Rackspace Cloud Domain Name Service (DNS) API

This service will allow customers to programmatically create and manage their DNS records.

I looked for a PHP class and I found php-cloudDNS on github.com. The class is pretty great but misses few functions and US cloud support.

So I forked it, edited it and submitted it here : https://github.com/alonbendavid/php-cloudDNS

One more step closer to iOS 4.3 Release

My original plans for New Years Eve was staying home and watching a movie with my fiancée.

Around 6pm a friend called and convinced me to go out to a private New Year’s Party.

It was a very cold evening and my mind was set on hot cocoa and a movie with a nice warm blanket, but I decided to go anyways.

So we arrived to this very nice home, it was a beautiful house and the first thing that I noticed is this very well preserved Apple II computer.

As the “Cool Geek” that I am, I told my friend: “Check This Out”.

He responded like most people would: “Who Cares”.

I forgave his ingnorance not knowing how important part of the computing history this piece was.

Later on I met the proud owner of this Macintosh, it was Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince Of Persia & Karateka.

2 Great games from the 90′s that I loved as a kid. And the computer that I saw there was the computer that the games were programmed (assembly) on,

and to think I could have stayed home and watched a movie……….WOW!

Important to say that the host of this party was great and the guests were very nice. I’m not posting any pictures from the party to respect the privacy of Jordan Mechner.

As for putting the Apple II pictures; he gave me permission.

What’s new in iTunes 10.1.1

This release provides a number of important bug fixes, including:

Did you know that since iOS 3.0 Apple added a new Undo/Redo feature to the iPhone.

I just think that this unTalked feature deserve mentioning.

To undo your last change, simply shake your iPhone. Same thing to redo your last change.

I personally declare iOS 4.1 as the buggiest iPhone OS so far.

At this point, it’s not clear if this is just a limited thing or if it will expand to all locations.

I tried calling few T.J Max Locations & Few Mardhalls Locations and they have no clue about that.

Our source at T.J Maxx confirms that Only Colorado stores are selling the iPad for that price.

This is great news for every Google Voice user except Sean Kovacs, GV Mobile Creator.

The only missing feature that I noticed so far is the ability to login with few different Google Voice Accounts.

If you need to login with more than one account GV Mobile is your way to go.
