After Google Announced about their Exchange Server for iPhone support I decided to give it a try.

First thing was to get my Google Apps Mail Pushed to my phone, It works Great.

My second goal was to use Google to sync my contacts and save $99 a year using Apple Mobile Me.

The sync is good but if you have a picture for a contact or a custom fields (Like iPhone Number) it will not be synced.

So if you decide on doing the switch, remember to be careful and backup your contacts before, you’ll have to adjust your contacts to fit Google Contacts format and delete unnecessary contacts that was added during the years on your Google account.

This is my short experience with Google Exchange Server and the iPhone, let me know about your experience.

Update From Google:

1. Google Exchange only support iPhone 3.x OS and above.

2. The iPhone can synchronize up to 3 email address. Phone number synchronization is limited to 2 Home numbers, 1 Home Fax, 1 Mobile, 1 Pager, 3 Work (one will be labeled ‘Company Main’) and one Work Fax number.
